अक्टुबर बच्चों के कैंसर का जागरूकता माह है और हम समाज में प्रचलित मिथकों को तोड़ने के लिए प्रतिबंद्ध हैं, हमें उम्मीद है कि यह शीघ्र निदान में मदद करेंगे, जो सफल परिणाम के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। 

बच्चों के कैंसर के शुरूआती लक्षणः

● लंबे समय तक, अस्पष्टीकृत बुखार  

● अस्पष्टीकृत, खून की कमी और कमजोरी

● विभिन्न स्थानों पर नीला पड़ना या घाव के बाद लंबे समय तक खून बहना 

● शरीर के एक जगह में असामान्य गांठ या सूजन या दर्द

● उल्टी के साथ, लगातार सिरदर्द

● आँखों में सफेद चमक या दृष्टि में अचानक परिवर्तन

1. मिथक

बच्चों को कैंसर नहीं होता

तथ्य

● विश्व स्तर पर, हर 3 मिनट में एक बच्चे को कैंसर होता है ।

● हालांकि, यह सभी कैंसर का लगभग 3% है ।

● बच्चों का कैंसर वयस्क कैंसर से अलग हैं और इलाज दर उच्च है। 

2. मिथक

बच्चों में रक्त कैंसर का इलाज नहीं है।

तथ्य

● बच्चों में रक्त कैंसर वयस्कों से बहुत अलग है।

● जिनमे एक्यूट लिम्फोब्लास्टिक ल्यूकेमिया सबसे आम है।

● आधुनिक उपचारों के साथ अधिकांश 80% बच्चों का इलाज संभव है।

● समय पर निदान और सही उपचार से बच्चों के कैंसर का सम्पूर्ण ईलाज संभव है. 

3. मिथक

बच्चों का कैंसर वंशानुगत है।

तथ्य

● हालांकि डीएनए में परिवर्तन के कारण कैंसर होता है।

● यह आमतौर पर 90% से अधिक मामलों में वंशानुगत नहीं होता है

● इसलिए यह माता - पता से बच्चों में प्रसारित नहीं होता है

4. मिथक

बच्चों के कैंसर का इलाज संभव नहीं है।

तथ्य

● बच्चों के कैंसर, वयस्क कैंसर से अलग होते हैं।

● यह तेजी से बढ़ते है और इन्हें तत्काल ध्यान देने की आवश्यकता है।

● बच्चे उपचार के लिए बहुत अच्छी प्रतिक्रिया देते हैं और इलाज योग्य होते हैं।

● उनका उपचार एक विशेष बाल कैंसर विभाग में किया जाना चाहिए।

समय पर निदान और सही उपचार से बच्चों के कैंसर का सम्पूर्ण ईलाज संभव है.

How not to miss Childhood Cancer ?

 

● Prolonged, unexplained fever

● Unexplained paleness and weakness

● Easy bruising or bleeding

● An unusual lump or swelling or pain in one area of the body

● Frequent headaches, often with vomiting

● Sudden changes in the eye or vision

1. Myth   

Cancer does not occur in children

 

Fact

● Globally, one child is diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes

● Although rare it constitutes about 3% of all the cancers

● Childhood Cancers are different from adult cancers and have

   high cure rates

2. Myth   

Blood Cancer in Children is not curable

 

Fact

● Blood cancer in children is very different from that in adults

● Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)  is the most common

● Many new advances have been made  and

● With modern treatments ALL is curable in most (80%) children

3. Myth   

Childhood cancer is inherited

 

Fact

● Though cancer is caused due to changes in the DNA,

● it is usually not  hereditary in more than 90% cases.

● Hence it is not transmitted from parents to children.
